Social Development Department Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her aid and commitment to bettering South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) expert services through an engagement while using the company's senior professionals at a strategic planning session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the various social grant beneficiaries, who excelled while in the 2024 matric examinations.
Of the 724 156 full-time learners who registered with the National Senior Certification (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, representing 81% from the registered pupils while in the education sector.
These learners realized a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This indicates that the expenditure national government is producing in the life of inadequate and vulnerable little ones is yielding a favourable impact in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe mentioned.
Reflecting on the latest achievements, the Minister highlighted essential milestones and ongoing priorities. She dedicated to urgently addressing The difficulty of everlasting leadership appointments plus the scarcity of personnel at most local places of work.
Furthermore, the Minister highlighted the need for Group-based engagements and outreach functions.
